On Feb.4th morning, our school held 2023 spring semester faculty meeting ceremoniously. The meeting was held with the theme of “Bearing fruit with effort and starting a new journey with union”. The school party secretary and principal Tang Fei, vice principal Zhan Minling and Pan Junyu and all the staff gathered and planned a new prospect together. The meeting was hosted by vice principal Pan Junyu.

“Highlight” Moments with the Witness of Harvest

Moving in the wind and rain and passing the spring with flowers and autumn with fruits, our school witnessed many upward figures and displayed powerful inspiring strength in 2022. Before the meeting, the whole staff watched a video about the big events of our school in 2022 and reviewed the highlight moments that belonged to our school and witnessed the harvest and growth of our school.

The familiar and warm scenes were shown on the huge screen one by another. The sweat and effort in 2022 turned into the full harvest at this moment.

“Don’t linger on the way of chasing the wind and moon. At the end of the grassland were the continuous spring mountains.” These “highlight moments” were only epitomes of the development and progress of our school in the past year. Our school will continue to bear the anticipation of every staff and run toward the spring of vocational education.

Look Back at the Cultivation and Store the Power for the Future

At the beginning of the meeting, vice principal Pan Junyu, on behalf of the school leader group, first expressed heartfelt thanks to the hardworking staff and the best wishes for the new semester.

Then, vice principal Zhan Minling gave a report on 2022 school work conclusion. In the report vice principal Zhan pointed out that 2022 was the year when the party successfully held the 20th CPC National Congress and the key year for the vocational education to enhance the quality and reform. In this year, under the correct leadership of the school party committee the whole staff united as one and overcome the difficulties. To standard the Ministry of Education’s task of improving quality and training and the construction of secondary vocational schools in Guangdong Province, and to focus on our school’s “14th five-year” development plan and annual work points, our school deepened the reform and innovation, strengthened the connotation construction and achieved remarkable results in the aspects of epidemic prevention and control, connection between secondary and higher vocational schools, school-enterprise cooperation and professional construction. All the school work moved up to a new level and our school turned in a satisfactory answer paper.

Afterwards, she sorted out and summarized all the school work comprehensively from six aspects that were school party construction, education achievement, cultivation results, teacher quality, regulation management and campus safety. She talked in detail about the powerful measures and achievement of school in the promotion of high quality development.

Look back at the cultivation and store the power for the future. Vice principal Zhan stated that under the correct leadership of Municipal Education Work Committee and Municipal Education Bureau and with the joint effort of all staff, our school will surely have new progress, new breakthrough and new achievement to make contribution to Shenzhen education demonstration and the high quality development of vocational education.

Plan a Prospect and Forge Ahead with Fortitude

The spring brings new life to many things and we forge ahead with enterprise to the future. At the meeting, Tang Fei, Secretary of the Party Committee and principal of the school, delivered a keynote speech of “upholding the fundamental principles and breaking new ground, forging ahead to strive for high quality development of school” in combination with vocational education development policy orientation, development prospects and the current situation of our school.

Principal Tang first pointed out that “upholding the fundamental principles” means sticking to the right path, grasping the nature of things and following the objective laws and “breaking new ground” means having courage to explore, being good at creation, being flexible and constantly innovating. He said that if we wanted the vocational education to continue to develop healthily, we must uphold the fundamental principles and break new ground to ensure the continuous self-improvement and development of the education system with Chinese characteristics, and to ensure that the vocational education was satisfactory to the people.

Then principal Tang made a detailed analysis of our school’s advantages in six aspects of region, vocational education, industry, resources, talents and platforms. To standard the requirements of high quality development, he put forward “eight new and 8 capabilities” with the combination of school’s actual situation.

Principal Tang stated that “eight new and eight capabilities” referred to the following: (1) to seek for the support of the government and build a new situation in which all the conditions of running school meet standards to improve survivability; (2) to strive for  high-end cooperation and build a new system of “3+2”, “3+1+3” and “3+4” linking secondary vocational school and higher vocational schools to increase traction; (3) to keep up with the industrial development and construct the new adaption of specialty setting to industrial layout to enhance vitality; (4) to focus on professional connotation and build a new leap in key school-running ability to increase competitiveness; (5) to temper the two teams and construct a new powerful faculty to strengthen the fighting force; (6) to deepen the integration of industry, education and research and construct a new carrier of multiple cooperative school running to strengthen the influence; (7) to demonstrate our confidence and build a new benchmark for high-quality international cooperation to play an exemplary role; (8) to implement the “three-ation” simultaneously and construct a new scientific and efficient school governance to improve the execution.

Then, principal Tang deployed 9 important work of 2023 including implementing the system of principal responsibility under the leadership of the Party committee, striving for becoming a national double excellent school, pushing forward the construction of Guangdong high-level secondary vocational school, improving the specialties and professional groups, improving the key school-running capacity, carrying out a plan to improve and cultivate teachers in different categories, implementing the “four ones” enterprise-school cooperation project, implementing the “three–ation” project and carrying out the reshuffling of middle-level cadres and the Party committee.

“Looking back on 2022, we are full of pride; looking ahead to 2023, we are full of confidence.” At the beginning of the new year, principal Tang put forward three hopes for all the staff: First, he hoped all the staff to uphold their original aspiration of “educating people for the Party and educating talents for the country.” Second, he hoped the staff to have the determination to “sail straight to the sea”. Third, he hoped the staff to maintain the ambition of “for truly great man looking to this era alone”.

The spring returns to the earth and education warms up.

We are sailing through the waves when the wind and tide are strong.

We believe that under the leadership of principal Tang Fei all the staff will uphold the fundamental principles and break new ground with one heart and one mind and surely write a new chapter of the high quality development of the school!
