In order to unify the ideas, make consensus and plan together a new chapter of the high quality development of the school, on Feb.17th, our school held an opening faculty meeting for the 2024 spring semester with the theme of creating a great achievement with advantages and making a benchmark of leading demonstration. The secretary of school party committee Tang Fei, vice principals Zhan Minling and Pan Junyu, and the whole faculty attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by vice principal Pan Junyu.

On the occasion of the Spring Festival, vice principal Pan Junyu first sent the sincere New Year wishes to the whole teachers on behalf of the leading group and announced the good news of our school about the 2024 Guangdong Spring College Entrance Examination.

It’s the Right Time to Strive

The achievements belong to the past and now it’s the right time to strive. In the new year, vice principal Zhan Minling analyzed 28 work points of the school in 2024 in detail from four aspects: uniting the developing efforts guided by party building, promoting the all-rounded development of the students in the basis of cultivating morality, deepening the education reform with the core of quality construction and pushing the school to a new stage with the aim of improving governance. She anchored the direction of work in the new school year.  

Carry forward the Past and Forge ahead into the Future to Create a New Situation

At the end of the meeting, Secretary Tang Fei gave a conclusive speech. He first expressed heartfelt thanks to the whole hardworking teachers in Grade Three and all the staff who had concerned about and supported the work for the college entrance examination，“Because of you all our school can get such a nice achievement.”

Then, secretary Tang Fei made an emphasis on four pieces of important school work in 2024.

The first is to establish and improve the assessment indicators which include the department assessment indicators, cadre assessment indicators and teachers assessment indicators to create a more fair and just environment.

The second is to strengthen the construction of high level professional groups. We need to take the professional construction as an important gripper for the connotation development of the school. Each professional department should clarify the grouping logic of the professional groups and focus on building 1-2 trump professional groups.

The third is to continue to deepen the connection between secondary and higher vocational schools. All the departments should take the initiative to go out and strengthen the communication and contact with Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology and Shenzhen Polytechnic University. We should continuously promote the “1+8+N” connection mode between secondary and higher vocational education with the aim of cultivating high-quality talents with skills and technology and continuously optimize the cultivation plans, teaching contents and curriculum design of the three-two-section run-through cultivation to truly realize the integrated run-through cultivation.

The fourth is to plan the enrollment work in advance. According to the real condition of the school, enrollment plan should be properly made and the enrollment policies should be announced to the public in a timely manner. The responsible personnel should take the initiative to accept the supervision to ensure the enrollment work to be fair, just and open.

Starting from 40 years of school establishment, how can all the staff plan the future and get new achievement in the new journey? Secretary Tang Fei put forward four questions about development. The first was which direction the road of secondary vocational school’s future development led to. The second was what vision and goal of school development were. The third was how to keep the brand of school and what sword it had. The fourth was what abilities our teachers had to adapt to the need of vocational education.

The four questions triggered the new thinking of all the staff. The times were changing and developing and we should take the newness of days to strive for self-improvement. Then, secretary Tang Fei gave answers to the four questions about development with four development tips.

The first tip is to consider about danger and practice your internal strength when you are at safety. When our school develops to this day, it bears some burdens of its own which need everyone to exert their wisdom to crack one by one. For example, in the project of running a school to meet the standards, we should not only seek for the immediate comfort but should also keep the long-term achievement. We should make mutual effort and support the construction of new campus. We still have some other problems which we could only practice our internal strength to solve one by one. The cadres should practice the internal strength of management. The teachers should practice the internal strength of cultivating students. And you all also should practice your internal strength in adapting to the changing situation and environment.

The second tip is to seek for development by thinking about changing and innovating. New industries, new technologies and new careers keep merging. As the big environment changes, our teachers should have changes in thinking and ways of doing things, form standardized and professional working styles and have innovation in work so that you can have achievements in work.

The third tip is to take the courage to shoulder the heavy burdens and overcome the difficulties. In the school development, we will surely encounter many difficulties which can not be solved only by school leaders and middle-level cadres. The main body of school is the teacher who needs to show the sense of ownership and actively takes part in the work of professional department and school. Only by advancing hand in hand, supporting and understanding mutually, and shouldering the heavy tasks together can we overcome the difficulties and solve the constraints in the secondary vocational school development and seek for better development of school.

The fourth tip is to carry forward the past and forge ahead into the future to create a new situation. In the past forty years, our school has got abundant achievements. We should keep the advantages and spirit, pass on the excellent traditions and change the improper things through reforms. As long as our teachers uphold the spirit of striving, keep upright and innovate,and look forward, our school will surely get more excellent achievements and be worthy of the title of the First Vocational School.

A new journey has started again and the future can be anticipated. The whole staff of the first vocational school will inspire the spirit of dragon and horse, be pioneering and innovative, hardworking and dedicated to write a more prosperous chapter of the school and make a greater contribution of our school to the construction of a powerful country in education.
